What is the High Performance Program? 

The SRVA High Performance (HP) Program is a highly competitive program operated by the USAV Region agnostic of the club programs within in.  It provides an opportunity for the top junior athletes in the SRVA to experience high-level training and skill development with some of the top college coaches from their region. Using a tryout process, the SRVA HP Program will select athletes to field teams to train and attend theUSA All-Star Championship Tournament.  This tournament is one of the premier international indoor events of the season, drawing close to 100 boys and girls teams from other USAV regional all-star delegations and international teams representing a National Federation of the FIVB.    These teams compete in an elite, four-day event.  

What are the goals of the Southern Region (SRVA) HP Program?

1. To expand and extend higher level volleyball opportunities for Southern Region Athletes by training in an elite atmosphere at the SRVA HP Training Camps AND through the opportunity to play against other elite athletes from across the nation and the world in the USA All-Stars Championship Tournament.

2. To offer a valuable, club agnostic, college-like experience to athletes led by highly qualified college coaches and SRVA HP Region coaching staff.

3. To provide an opportunity for our Southern Region Athletes to be showcased to recruiters and NTDP scouts who attend our camps and/or the USA All-Stars Championship Tournament as future collegiate and National Team prospects.

4. To offer Southern Region Athletes the opportunity to be involved in elite-level volleyball without regard to team, club, organizational alliances, or affiliations. 

In 2024, the SRVA will field 5 SRVA HP Teams; 3 girls teams & 2 boys teams! *Please note, age divisions are international definitions, not USAV definitions - please refer to birth years.

For 2024, we are fielding 5 SRVA HP teams this season for the All-Star Championships in Des Moines, Iowa:

• Girls U19 (2006-2007) 
• Girls U17 (2008-2009)
• Girls U15 (2010-2011)
• Boys U19 (2006-2007)
• Boys U17 (2008-2009) *younger may be considered*

In addition, to further grow the program and provide more opportunities to athletes, we intend to field a Girls U13 (2012+) Invitational Only Camp during the HP Team Selection Camp:

The Team Selection Camp roster will be chosen via a tryout process.  The SRVA HP Team roster will then be chosen at Team Selection Camp.  SRVA’s goal is to ensure that this tryout process follows specific and publicized tryout standards. This is to ensure the validity and integrity of the tryouts and decisions that affect athlete selection and team composition.  Those standards are as follows:

• Tryout details and information will be published on the Southern Region website and social media prior to any tryout occurring.

• Camp and/or Team Selection are based on the objective measures observed (athletic testing, statistics, etc) as well as by weighing subjective measures (on court success,  athlete coachability, chemistry, etc.).

• Tryouts, SRVA HP Team Selection Camp, and SRVA HP Team Training Camp will operate as club agnostic on the girls side of the game.  Only SRVA HP team coaches and approved SRVA HP staff will have input during the tryout process.

• Tryout metrics, statistics and evaluation numbers will be recorded and collected via paper or mobile software to ensure proper athlete comparison.  This information will not be shared with athletes, families, or other persons not involved in the Camp and/or Team selection process.
