We hope you are all staying healthy and well during these trying times. After much consideration, the SRVA Board of Directors has made the very tough decision to cancel the 2020 Junior Indoor Regional Championships. This was not an easy decision to make. However, in the end, we determined that it is an impossibility to host this event in a manner that is safe for all of our participants, families and workforce. 

Questions & Answers:

• Why didn’t we wait longer to decide?  We wanted to make sure if we decided to cancel the event it would be announced prior to our 30 day cutoff date with the hotels (April 29).  THS will be contacting the  individuals and clubs who used the housing service to make hotel reservations.

• Refunding entry fees? In regard to refunds, we have spoken with your Club Director and notified them about the refund process of team entry fees. This process will take some time as we had a record number of team entries this year. We ask for not only patience on our end, but on behalf of your Club Directors as well. This is uncharted territory for us all, and it will take some time to navigate these new issues many of us face.
• What about the National Bids? The Board of Directors is forming a competition review committee that will determine the most equitable means to determine the bid recipients. There will be more information regarding this process shared with the Club Directors once it is finalized.
• Is the SRVA cancelling the season? No, the SRVA will continue to work with the “USAV Reopening Task Force”, and our clubs in an effort to reopen our region to sanctioned volleyball activities i.e. Beach events, Summer training sessions, and more… We are hopeful that as this crisis recedes and the nation starts to reopen, that we will be able to rejoin the joy and celebration that is youth sports.
