SRVA JUNIOR REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - Competition Schedules
April 30, 2008
The 2008 SRVA Junior Regional Championships will occur at the Georgia World Congress Center on May 3-4, 2008. There will be no coaches meetings for any division. Specific play schedules will be posted in the forms/tournament section prior to the tournament.
The first match for 18 power through 15 power and 18 club through 16 club will begin at 8 AM on Saturday 5/3/08.
The first match for 14 power through 12 power and 15 club through 12 club will begin at 2 PM on Saturday 5/3/08.
Tournament rules and procedures have been posted under the forms/tournament section of this website.

DEADLINES TO REGISTER FOR JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS

The following are deadline dates for registration materials and checks to be received in the SRVA Atlanta office in order to attend the USAV Girls and Boys National Championships
[1] Monday April 21, 2008 for Girls Open/At-Large Division
[2] Monday April 28, 2008 for Girls National and American Divisions
[3] Monday May 19, 2008 for the Boys National Championships

Honorees sought for 2008 Boyce Banquet

We are seeking persons who might deserve recognition at the 2008 Boyce Banquet, to be held in late May 2008 just before the USA Open in Atlanta, Georgia. If you know of some deserving person who has provided meaningful service to volleyball in our area [in any forum, SRVA, high school, college, etc.], please forward that info to Ken Cain by 3/31/08.

Bad Weather Policy

It is the decision of each coach and/or club whether their team should attempt to travel to a tournament in bad weather. However, it is the decision of the individual tournament director whether or not to cancel a tournament due to bad weather. Teams deciding not to attend a tournament that has not been cancelled will not receive a refund of their tournament entry fee. In addition, those teams must notify the Region prior to the tournament that they will not participate or they may be subject to further monetary sanctions.

INFO FOR THE 2007-08 SEASON

The following is some information for the upcoming 2007-08 season:
[1] The SRVA Junior Regional Championships will occur on May 3-4, 2008.
[2] Those coaching junior teams this year will need an impact coaching certification within a reasonable time after they begin coaching. A list of coaches certified in SRVA clinics through 2006 has been added to the website.
[3] The requirement that numbers be centered on the player jersies will be in effect this year, and note the info re requirements for libero uniforms [see rule 4.3.3, 4.3.3.1a and 19.2a].
Junior Tryout Policy

The junior try-out policy applies to ALL junior age divisions for the 2007-08 season. The commitment dates for each state are as follows: Tennessee 11/6/07; Alabama 11/12/07 and Georgia 11/14/07. Although tryouts for younger players may occur before each state's high school championships [if allowed by that state's high school rules], the commitment date for ALL age division players are the above dates.
